DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) announced that its January 10, 2012 luncheon session will feature a panel discussion on a legal overview of what IROs need to know. Ever-changing legislation requires public companies to stay abreast of the latest rulings. This informative, interactive panel features prominent Denver-area attorneys who will discuss important regulatory topics affecting all publicly traded companies, including the latest on Dodd-Frank, recent SEC developments and areas of interest, and other proposed rules/issues to watch.

The panel will be led by M. Sean Radcliffe, Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel Corporate- Chief Compliance Officer for IHS Inc.

Working closely with the company's board and leadership team, Sean is the lead corporate counsel with responsibility for securities matters, corporate governance, the intellectual property portfolio, and the complex regulatory issues that face a global public company. He also supports the Secretary and General Counsel as Assistant Secretary to the Board. In addition, he leads the company's compliance program and oversees the risk management organization. Sean joined IHS in 2004 to take the company public. Prior to joining IHS, Sean was in-house counsel for WilTel Communications during its rise as a public company, its successful reorganization in a New York bankruptcy court, and the sale of the business. Sean also spent many years in private practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma, advising public and private companies on complex business transactions, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and corporate governance.

Keir D. Gumbs is a partner with Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C. He advises public and private companies, non-profit organizations, institutional investors and other clients in corporate, corporate governance, securities regulation and transactional matters. Mr. Gumbs' clients include small, medium and large cap companies, non-profit organizations, public pension funds and other institutional investors. Mr. Gumbs' career includes six years of service with the SEC, where, immediately prior to joining Covington & Burling in 2005, he served as Counsel to SEC Commissioner Roel C. Campos.
