Expert to identify what's behind technical stock behavior and share liquidity
DENVER, Colo., Jan. 29, 2008 - The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI - www.rockyniri.org) announced today that its monthly meeting will feature the founder and managing director of ModernNetworks IR LLC (Modern IR), Tim Quast.
Who: Tim Quast is founder and managing director of Modern IR. Before launching Modern IR, Quast was the first investor relations officer for SureWest Communications. Previously, he was co-founder, president and chief operating officer for a retail investor relations services company, Informed Investors Inc. Quast began his capital markets career in boutique investment banking at QBF Management Co., a British Virgin Islands private banking firm.
What: During the luncheon, Quast will share a presentation entitled, "Brave New World of Stock Surveillance - How Quant Trading Impacts Your Stock." He will discuss tracking and understanding the supply and demand market forces that determine a company's share volatility. Key points he will cover include: fundamentals of the market structure; a new type of shareholder surveillance in identifying algorithmic trading and effects of options expirations; and, convertible hedging on stock performance.
